Wow! January 6, 2010 Right tool for the job (Logan, UT USA) Love it! Big, deep container, time delay (which for me is a must), does white rice and brown rice wonderfully, steel cut oats on the porridge cycle is perfect, easy to clean, has a keep warm setting, and it has a quick cook setting in case I forget to put it in or am too late in deciding what's for dinner. My two complaints are first, that the cup it comes with and that you're supposed to use to measure the rice is not a true one cup, and second, the steamer basket is hard to pull out. But it's still a five-star product.
Every Day Use October 30, 2009 jhues789 (Madison, WI) I had no idea this would be so popular in my house but we are using it all the time. My daughter loves it when I make hard boiled eggs along with the rice. Brown rice, Sushi rice, Steel cut oats. Love them all.
Bought this on 11/17/07. September 22, 2009 BrokeNotPoor I originally purchased this from Newegg, but couldn't leave a review there because it is currently deactivated from their site so I'm leaving my input here.
Overall this rice cooker worked great until the inside bottom of the pan started to chip away exposing the metal underneath. I'm thinking this is the reason it's not selling anymore.
I just hope using this before discovering the deterioration of the pan doesn't cause any health problems. Has anyone else out there experienced the same thing with their pan?
More than rice June 9, 2009 C. Donohue (Las Vegas, NV USA) We have had this Rice cooker for awhile now and its great. We decided over some of the other rice cookers due to its ability to steam as well. Combined purchased with The Ultimate Rice Cooker Cookbook : 250 No-Fail Recipes for Pilafs, Risottos, Polenta, Chilis, Soups, Porridges, Puddings and More, from Start to Finish in Your Rice Cooker. Its a great compliment to this item. Everything we have made has been delicious. So far have tried your standard basmati rice, brown rice, steel cut oats, and with the aid of the book some really good risotto. I highly recommend this Rice Cooker.
Perfect Rice! May 3, 2009 C. Taylor (Newtown, PA) I bought this rice cooker by default. I had purchased a Cuisinart that I never used because it had such a poor instruction booklet with missing information (like how long cooking time is and measurements). I never used it and ran out before a sushi party to find another cooker. I went looking for the super-high rated Zojirushi brand and couldn't find it in any of the stores. I ended up at a high end cooking store and this was their only rice cooker which nobody knew anything about. So I tried it. It's wonderful! Great design, size, speed and cooking. The sushi rice was perfect on my first try (I've never used a rice cooker before nor made sushi rice). I'm not sure what others mean re: the poorly written instructions that come with the cooker. I'm a pretty discriminating consumer and thought they were just fine and had no trouble. If you're looking for a rice cooker and aren't sure- this one won't disappoint!
